HSBC Art Collection
It is widely known that banks such as HSBC, Deutsche Bank and others, invest in established and emerging artists. But what is lesser known is what happens to the artworks after transaction. Loaned to exhibitions, placed in meeting rooms or put into storage? HSBC is one of the few banks that hold public exhibitions every 6 months, representing emerging and local artists.
Amongst the many towering glass buildings in Canary Wharf, you’ll find a hidden gem exhibition on the 6th floor of HSBC. The current show on view is a retrospective of the work by Glasgow School of Art and RCA graduate, Sin Park. @sinpark_
In Unnecessary Equals, Sin Park explores fleeting emotions and relationships over the course of a two year period. Her work is heavy in its painterly application but light in mood and colour. Bursting with floral sprays in bubblegum pink, and drips and splashes of black tar like paint, Park’s vibrant canvases bring contrast and creativity to the corporate reception area and meetings rooms.
The exhibition is on till 13th April 2023 at HSBC, Canada Square London. To visit by appointment email art@hsbc.com
